Das Niddesa ist ein Teil des Pali Kanon des Theravada. Es ist ein Teil des Khuddaka Nikaya und wurde vor dem ersten Jahrhundert v.Chr. verfasst. Der Text beinhaltet einen Kommentar zu Teilen des Suttanipata. Es wird Buddhas Schüler Sariputta zugeschrieben.
Das Niddesa besteht aus den Teilen
- Maha Niddesa - ein Kommentar zum Atthaka Vagga(Sn 4) und dessen 16 Reden
- Cula Niddesa - ein Kommentar zum Parayana Vagga(Sn 5) und zum Khaggavisana Sutta(Sn 13) .
